Michael Carter

Dr Carter is a NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer in Paediatrics at King's College London, and Sub-speciality Registrar in Paediatric Intensive Care at Evelina London Children's Hospital. He works in the Schools of Life Course Sciences, and Immunology and Microbial Sciences (Group of Dr Manu Shankar-Hari). He uses "omic" sciences and cytometry to investigate the pathophysiology of severe inflammation in children. He aims to take a "life course" view of patients in intensive care, acknowledging that the consequences of each admission to an intensive care unit will have profound importance for a patient's long-term health.
